Unlabeled MALDI Molecular Imaging
Bruker’s MALDI Imaging tools are designed to reveal the widest range of molecular distributions with minimal effort. MALDI Imaging can provide thousands of molecular maps in a tissue, ranging from metabolites to proteins, without labels or antibodies. Labeled molecular imaging techniques suffer from many limitations. Many times only a small number of compounds can be measured simultaneously before significant interference from label ‘cross talk’ renders distribution maps unreliable. While, the very nature of labelling requires the target compounds to be known beforehand rendering discovery strategies impossible. In contrast, the unlabelled nature of MALDI Imaging is well suited for a wide variety of targeted and untargeted molecular studies from agriculture to neuroscience.
