Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) are strongly associated with a variety of human disorders, including cancer, which makes it important to monitor the level of PFCs in consumables like drinking water. However, this family of molecules is particularly chemically inert and resistant to degradation, making them hard to isolate and detect.
Also, the ubiquitous nature of PFCs in lab equipment and consumables can result in higher backgrounds and/or contamination, adding to problems with analysis of trace levels of PFCs.
Download this app note for an effective SPE method for the concentration of PFCs for analysis. Also learn simple steps to overcome potential PFC contamination and high background in that analysis.
