Surgical precision in brain tumor removal may soon be enhanced by genetic data, thanks to a new technology developed at NYU Langone Health. Ultra-rapid droplet digital PCR (UR-ddPCR) can identify cancer cell mutations in real time, delivering results in just 15 minutes with high sensitivity.


In this interview, Dr. Gilad Evrony discusses how UR-ddPCR compares to standard techniques, its current limitations and its potential to guide more informed surgical decisions. He also outlines how the technology could be adapted for use in other cancers and clinical settings.
