Blurring the Line Between Science, Art, and Design. This spectacular image is a polychromatic scanning electron micrograph of the skeletal details of the coral, Coscinaraea sp. Field of view: 2.1 mm. The image, which will be on display at the "Nature—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial" exhibition, is of farmed coral specimens from the tropical Indo-Pacific, which demonstrate the skeletal complexity and natural beauty of these incredibly diverse and ecologically important marine invertebrates.
