Chemtex is pleased to announce that it has entered into a Term Sheet Agreement with Colombiana de Biocombustibles Celulósicos (“COLBIOCEL”) for the supply of a License and associated engineering and technical services for an eighty-five thousand metric ton per year (85 ktpa) cellulosic ethanol plant using Chemtex’s break-through PROESA™ Process.  The project will be implemented in Chitaraque, Colombia using sugarcane bagasse as the feedstock.

“We are extremely pleased that COLBIOCEL has recognized PROESA™ as the viable and break-through technology that will allow them to add value to their sugar cane waste by producing cellulosic ethanol,” said Guido Ghisolfi, President and CEO of Chemtex.  “Chemtex believes that bagasse is an excellent feedstock for our PROESA™ Process and we are actively working with a number of clients interested in similar applications throughout South America and internationally.”
