Waters Corporation Releases 2012 Sustainability Report with GRI Certification

For this report, Waters has applied the current G3 version of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines — the world’s leading voluntary standard on corporate sustainability reporting.
The main goal of the GRI, a world-wide nonprofit organization, is to create a framework for systematic and transparent sustainability reporting by corporations. Waters Corporation reported against the GRI's key performance indicators in the areas of products, environmental management, customers, employees and corporate governance.

Highlights from Waters’ 2012 Sustainability Report include:
• Recipient of a 2011 MassSavers Business Award for significant reduction in energy used, to ensure that the air leaving Waters’ Taunton Production Facility meets and exceeds all applicable air quality standards.
• Reduced energy consumption from heating oil by 25% from 2010 to 2011.
• Matched the donations of over 1,500 employees to 541 non-profit organizations.
• Became a founding member in the first Global Food Safety Capacity Building fund managed by the World Bank, to support and expand understanding of food safety standards from farm to fork.
