Characterization of nanosecond micro-mixers

We have constructed two four-jet-tangential micro-mixers, one from stainless-steel to study reactions in a freeze-quench setup, instrumental-dead-time 60µs and one from glass allowing optical studies. Both mixers contain 70µm channels ending in premixing-chamber. After the premixing-chamber, the fluids enter a mixing-chamber and leaves at an orifice travelling further as a free jet, mixing-time 200 ns, jet flow 200 m/s, pressure 400 bar.

Effects of cannabinoids on cholinergic-mediated contraction of human bronchi

The current study was performed to investigate the role of cannabinoid (CB) receptors on the cholinergic contraction of isolated human airways. Results obtained with WIN55,212-2 (CB1/CB2 agonist), JWH-133 (CB2 agonist) and CB receptor selective antagonists suggest that CB1-receptor stimulation inhibits the cholinergic contraction in human isolated bronchi through stimulation of prejunctional receptors, located to post-ganglionic cholinergic nerves.

Antibody Array-Based Analysis of Expression Levels in Protein Mixtures Extracted from Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) Material using ULS Labeling

Protein was extracted from 7-year old FFPE samples of B-cell lymphoma and mamma carcinoma, followed by ULS labeling. Samples were used for single or two color assays using a custom-made antibody array. We observed differential expression levels for several captured analytes. In B-cell lymphoma, expected high levels of IgM were detected, while high levels of CA19-9, a putative marker, were found for the breast cancer tissue.
