New AB SCIEX Triple Quad™ 3500 System Redefines Simplified Mass Spec

Read time: 1 minute

AB SCIEX, a global leader in life science analytical technologies, today announced the introduction of the Triple Quad 3500 System, an enhanced basic mass spectrometry system that meets the evolving demands of food and environmental testing laboratories for research use. The Triple Quad 3500 system was developed based on customer and industry feedback, resulting in a modernized, system that delivers quantitative performance at a price point affordable by labs with limited budget or those new to mass spectrometry.

The system incorporates the AB SCIEX proprietary TurboV™ Ion Source and Curtain Gas™ interface to give labs consistent data quality over long runs with minimal downtime. Upgrades over the API 3200 system include faster scan speeds, improved polarity switching, enhanced sensitivity, updated electronics, and new data acquisition algorithms to maximize throughput and ensure that all targeted compounds are reliably detected in every injection.

“Every scientist needing to perform routine testing, particularly in applications to monitor the safety of our food and the environment, deserves the best quality technology available,” said Vincent Paez, Senior Director, food and environmental markets for AB SCIEX. “As the industry leaders in mass spectrometry, we developed the Triple Quad 3500 system to give labs of all skill levels or budget constraints access to the best technology for success.”

To help simplify the adoption of mass spec technology for new customers, AB SCIEX is also providing tools and support to overcome the biggest bottlenecks in routine food or environmental testing – data processing and method development.  The Triple Quad 3500 package includes MultiQuant™ software, which simplifies data processing, review, and reporting, and is easy to adopt for new users.  Additionally, the industry-leading AB SCIEX service and support organization are primed to help labs, especially those new to mass spec, to develop their methods and transition from their existing methodologies, for research use.
