SARS-CoV-2 and Food-Borne Diseases in Germany

Mitigation measures taken during the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic in Germany in 2020 differently impacted the occurrence of food-borne infectious diseases. Data for weekly case numbers in 2020 for listeriosis, salmonellosis, campylobacteriosis and norovirus infections are presented. Cumulative case numbers for 2019 and 2020 are compared. The study enables insights into the epidemiology of food-borne diseases in Germany. Hypotheses on exposure pathways can be generated.
