Aditi Verma completed her masters in life sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India where she started her training as a molecular biologist. She pursued her PhD in neuroscience at the Indian Institute of Science, India. Here, she studied the molecular mechanisms underlying the degeneration of substantia nigra pars compacta dopaminergic neurons in Parkinson’s disease patients and mouse models. During her post-doc, she investigated the early signatures of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease. She then moved on to the role of scientific officer at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India, where she investigated the membrane biophysics of synaptic vesicular release of serotonin. Aditi has spent over a decade in the lab and has gained expertise on a plethora of molecular, cell and computational biology tools and techniques. She has also worked as a science editor and has published peer-reviewed scientific articles.
