A new peristaltic pump enables researchers working in bioprocessing environments to achieve the precision and reliability needed to improve their processes.

The Thermo Scientific Miniflex peristaltic pump delivers an expanded flow range of up to 370 mL per minute, allowing researchers to effectively dispense low- and high-volume fluids with repeatability and accuracy on a scale previously not offered by pumps of equivalent size.

Ideally suited for applications that require precision in liquid transfer, metering, sampling or filling at different flow rates, the Miniflex peristaltic pump features an enhanced pump system, space-saving footprint, versatile tubing options and a newly designed ergonomic pump head based on the widely deployed Thermo Scientific Easy-Load pump design.

“Peristaltic pumps play an important role in many applications within research and industrial settings. In bioprocessing environments, researchers are facing new requirements for speed, efficiency and reliability in liquid transfer,” said Gregg Johnson, senior marketing manager, fluid handling for Thermo Fisher Scientific. “The advancements of the new Miniflex address these laboratory challenges for a wide variety of fluid and media transfer needs.”

With both single- and dual-channel versions, a custom pump head and drive configuration can be developed for a specific application.

The instrument’s over-center cam design and automatic tubing retention system permit quick tubing changes without adjustment. The new Miniflex also offers:

• Small instrument footprint, offering easy integration into small space applications
• Continuous tubing, reducing risk of contamination and leakage
• Leak detection and open head sensor options
• Custom color choices to match pump with instrument design
