SAW Instruments will launch its new sam®X biosensor in North America at the IBC’s Antibody Engineering and Antibody Therapeutics (AEAT) meeting in San Diego, CA, USA (4-8 December 2011).

As part of the launch, SAW will be exhibiting the sam®X at booth #212 and will also present a poster, entitled “Binding Kinetics of Therapeutic Antibodies to Native Proteins on Living Cells”.

The high-end sam®X provides several innovative features that further optimize the system for a mammalian cell-based binding assay workflow.

These include an expansion in the number of sensor chips to two, increasing the channels available to 8.

Each can be addressed by the fluidics individually or in combinations, a factor that also facilitates on-chip immobilization at each sensor position.

The system can be used with unfixed cells in suspension, which are injected afresh for each measurement, or adherent cells grown directly on the sensor chips themselves.

Most importantly, assays are completed in mere minutes, enabling accurate real-time kinetics data to be captured.
