The aim of personalized medicine is to a move away from the traditional “one size fits all” approach to the treatment of diseases – such as cancer. For patients where standard clinical options have been exhausted, novel personalized therapeutics may be required.
Patient-derived cancer models, such as “organoids”, can help predict an individual’s response to a drug – both efficacy and toxicity – prior to administration.
