Agilent 4150 TapeStation System

Agilent 4150 TapeStation System

The new Agilent 4150 TapeStation system complements the Agilent automated electrophoresis platforms with a new compact, low-throughput instrument. Building on the success of the proven ScreenTape technology, it allows a quick, easy and reliable analysis of nucleic acids for up to 16 samples per run.
This affordable, entry-level system is the ideal solution for the quality control (QC) of RNA and DNA samples in next-generation sequencing (NGS), microarray and qPCR workflows. The instrument uses barcoded, credit card-sized ScreenTape consumables that are available for a wide range of DNA and RNA applications, including the analysis of genomic and cell-free DNA samples. Nucleic acid sample QC has never been so easy as ScreenTape devices are ready-to-use and ensure minimal manual intervention.

No error-prone gel handling or filling steps are required. Individual sample lanes as well as pipette tips eliminate the risk of carryover. As additional advantage, unused lanes on the ScreenTape device can be re-used within 2 weeks. This guarantees scalability as samples can be analyzed at a constant cost-per-sample independent of throughput. Even for high-sensitivity applications not more than 2 µL of precious sample is required. After automated electrophoresis and imaging, results are available in as little as 1-2 minutes per sample.

The TapeStation Software package includes functionality for instrument control and data analysis. Integrated advanced hardware diagnostic and functional verification tools minimize system downtime. The TapeStation Software is intuitive and presents the data as familiar gel image and electropherogram for each sample. Integrity standards for total RNA samples (RNA integrity standard equivalent, RINe) and genomic DNA (DNA integrity number, DIN) are automatically calculated and results can be color coded. With a few mouse-clicks the software generates customized reports and enables data export e.g. into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) compatible format.
