Agilent Femto Pulse System

Agilent Femto Pulse System

The Agilent Femto Pulse system is a powerful parallel capillary electrophoresis tool for automated quality control (QC) assessment of DNA and RNA. The advanced design of the system enables researchers to separate high molecular weight (HWM) samples and detect nucleic acids into the femtogram range. It is used in many workflows including long-read next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation, BAC clones, single cell analysis, small RNA, and cfDNA. The enhanced resolution capabilities of the Femto Pulse system allow for improved quantification, sizing, and integrity analysis of nucleic acids, helping to ensure downstream experimental success.

Easily separate high molecular weight DNA

As the only automated pulsed-field capillary electrophoresis instrument on the market, the Femto Pulse system is ideal for applications such as long-read library preparation and BAC analysis. The system provides a solution for determining accurate sizing, quantification, and integrity analysis of HWM DNA. Equipped with a pulsed-field power supply, the system separates DNA smears and fragments through 165 kb in about 1.5 hours. With specialized reagent kits and pulsing methods, researchers can conserve sample and eliminate overnight pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), making workflows more efficient.

Unparalleled sensitivity for femtogram-level detection

The enhanced optical platform and optimized reagent kits allow researchers to achieve unparalleled sensitivity, detecting nucleic acids into the femtogram range. The Femto Pulse system allows for QC of low concentration samples and provides accurate and reliable quantitation and sizing of DNA through 6,000 bp and RNA from 200 to 6,000 nt all the while using as little as 50 fg/µl of sample, conserving precious samples for downstream applications. With the ability to detect a single cell’s worth of nucleic acid, the opportunities are endless.
