Sera-Mag™ SpeedBeads and Sera-Mag Carboxylate-Modified Magnetic Particles

Sera-Mag™ SpeedBeads and Sera-Mag Carboxylate-Modified Magnetic Particles

Sera-MagTM SpeedBeads and Sera-Mag Carboxylate-Modified Magnetic Particles allow convenient covalent coupling of target molecules.

Carboxylic groups on the surface permit easy covalent coupling to biomolecules of interest using convenient carbodiimide chemistry.
Available in Sera-Mag SpeedBeads and original Sera-Mag versions.
Excellent sensitivity and low nonspecific binding for greater accuracy.
Different levels of hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity available.

Sera-Mag SpeedBeads and Sera-Mag Carboxylate-Modified Magnetic Particles combine a fast magnetic response time and high binding capacity with a large surface area, high sensitivity, stability, physical integrity, and fast reaction kinetics. Covalent coupling of biomolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids to carboxyl groups on the surface is easily accomplished using our standard coupling technology. Typical applications include sample preparation, proteomics, nucleic acid isolation, and immunoassay applications.

Fast magnetic response times and stable physical integrity

The core of the particle is made by a free radical emulsion polymerization of styrene and acid monomer. One (Sera-Mag) or two (Sera-Mag SpeedBeads) layers of magnetite are then coated onto this core, while the surface is modified to minimize non-specific binding of proteins.

Customized to fit your workflow

As magnetic particles may need further processing before they are ready to use for your particular application, we can provide personalized magnetic bead solutions that fit seamlessly into your workflows, often saving you time and money in the process. We aim to provide product that is ready to use with little or no need for further modification allowing you to focus on the science that matters.
