DomaniCell, LLC has announced it has obtained a license to perform umbilical cord blood collection, processing, and storage from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.

DomaniCell is applying for similar licenses, where required, in States throughout the country as it launches its hospital-based family cord blood collection and storage service.

In addition to state-level licensure, DomaniCell's licensed program also includes a nationwide license from PharmaStem Therapeutics, Inc. to PharmaStem's patent portfolio for the storage and use of umbilical cord blood.

The nature of DomaniCell's license is exclusive and thus provides hospitals with unique protection from patent-infringement claims.

"Our license strategy allows DomaniCell to enter into relationships with hospital partners to develop their own cord blood stem cell banking program that is built on DomaniCell infrastructure and technology," states DomaniCell President Dennis Fallen.

"The response we have received to-date from discussions with hospitals across the country has been overwhelmingly positive."
