Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced that it has signed a purchase agreement to acquire MTI-GlobalStem, a privately-held company that develops and commercializes leading-edge technology and reagents for cell transfection, neurobiology and stem cell research applications.

Completion of the transaction follows the receipt of all required regulatory approvals. Per the agreement, no further details of the transaction are being provided. Based in Gaithersburg, Md., MTI-GlobalStem will be folded into Thermo Fisher’s life sciences solutions segment.
