Pioneer Scientific has introduced a novel multiwell cell culture plate with gridded bottom. These 2x2 mm grids are on the bottom surface of the tissue culture treated wells and will not affect cell in culture, according to the company.

These patented products are a tool for identifying or tracking individual cells or cell colonies such as, stem cell colonies, tumor cell colonies, or hematopoietic cell colonies with a reference point. With 2 mm square grid pattern on the bottom side of the well, it is easy to count individual cells, measure the colony size or cell number per colony.

The grids on the plate are also useful for cell movement tracking during cell migration assays. Currently 6 well plates and 12 well plates are available as individual, gamma irradiated packaging.
