Proteintech has unveiled its new Humankine ® line of over 50 human cell-expressed cytokines and growth factors. Today’s applications of cytokines and growth factors for therapeutics require higher efficacy than can be provided by bacteria and Chinese hamster ovary cells. Additionally, to be used in humans, proteins need to be free of animal-derived components. Since these human proteins are manufactured by human cells, they have native glycosylation, folding, and multimerization, resulting in higher activity and stability than those created in non-human sources. Also, they are completely free of animal-derived components and are xenobiotic free. These qualities make them ideal for use in stem cell maintenance and CAR-T cell culture.
