Chris Walsh, the director of the Vision Technology Business Unit at RTS, explained: “The first customers to benefit from this broadening of tube types will be Sanofi Aventis and the Medical Research Council. Tube Auditor is a unique product within Compound Management, High Throughput Screening and Bio-banking. It is the only instrument capable of swiftly and accurately measuring the volume of samples and detecting precipitate, all without the need to decap the tubes.”
Not only does Tube Auditor help maintain precise records of compound volumes, something that previously was notoriously difficult or time consuming to do, but the Pro version can even detect precipitates giving users a good indication of the quality of their compounds in storage. As the caps are left in place during the auditing process, samples remain safe and sample degradation can be avoided. Tube Auditor is a bench-top instrument that can be either integrated into automated systems or used manually. RTS has a patent application pending for the vision technology used in Tube Auditor.
