Sera Laboratories International Ltd (Sera Lab), the serum specialist, has an extensive product listing serving a wide variety of cell culture requirements. These high quality products comprise cell culture sera, cell culture media and reagents, and include innovative serum and serum-free options.

Sera Lab is a UK-based, independently-owned primary collector of foetal bovine and other sera, guaranteeing full traceability of material from point of origin to final bottled product. Available documentation includes Certificates of Analysis, Certificates of Origin, and batch filtration documentation. Membership of the International Serum Industry Association (ISIA) also affirms Sera Lab’s commitment to quality, safety and safe use of serum.

One of the key products in the range is foetal bovine serum (FBS), triple filtered to 0.1 µm with low endotoxin and haemoglobin content. Sera Lab FBS is available from a wide variety of origins with the option of serum pre-tested for certain disciplines including Embryonic Stem Cell, Low IgG, Charcoal-stripped and Tetracycline-negative. All cell culture sera may also be supplied following further processing such as heat inactivation, gamma irradiation and dialysis/ultrafiltration.

Sera Lab also specializes in the supply of a large range of traditional cell culture media and reagents, plus a wide selection of application- and cell-specific media, with associated supplements and reagents including SplitCell, a vegetable-based alternative to Trypsin.

The company can also offer the highest quality custom cell culture products, based on extensive knowledge and experience built up by Sera Lab’s management and staff whilst collecting and processing material for over 30 years. As an additional support to customers, Sera Lab also offers a free “reservation service”, where material can be held in the Company’s own freezer facilities for up to one year.
