STEMSOFT has announced the release of their new standard interfaces, STEMSOFT Connect™. STEMSOFT Connect offers standard interface tools that easily connect commonly used applications and devices to STEMSOFT’s applications.
STEMSOFT wanted to provide our clients with a simple solution to address these common complex problems,” states Piers Coleman Director of Software Engineering at STEMSOFT. “Interfacing with systems has typically been a custom solution for each client in the past, however, with the availability of a common messaging language STEMSOFT has been able to create and deliver STEMSOFT Connect which offers as close to an out-of-the-box solution as possible.”
STEMSOFT has architected a Health Level 7 (HL7) interface that uses version 2.3 messages to retrieve and import relevant details into the STEMSOFT CORE™ database from clients’ existing Hospital Admission/Discharge/Transfer (ADT) and/or Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). HL7 is an industry standard for interoperability of health information technology that is designed to facilitate communication messaging between different medical software solutions.
STEMSOFT Connect’s standard ADT interface allows clients to automatically receive patient demographics and admission details from their main hospital information system instantly into STEMSOFT CORE. Whereas, STEMSOFT Connect’s LIS interface links to the main laboratory information system to pull through patient and product lab tests and results automatically. These interfaces are designed to save time and heighten the quality and integrity of data – benefits that can be added on at any time to existing STEMSOFT installations.
In addition STEMSOFT offers a library of over 300 device drivers that allow users to interface StemLab™ directly with select automated devices including flow cytometers, hematology analyzers, controlled rate freezers and BacT sterility testing systems.
