Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., today announced a new smaller-capacity Thermo Scientific Midi 40 CO2 incubator.
With its 1.4 cu ft (40 L) capacity, the Midi 40 incubator adds a new dimension to the Thermo Scientific portfolio of leading CO2 incubation solutions and delivers the reliable culturing performance of a full-sized incubator in a space-saving footprint.
The Midi 40 is designed for researchers who require separate, undisturbed incubation conditions due to the contamination risk associated with shared incubators or lack of available space. Additional benefits include reduced energy and gas consumption, as well as lower heat output.
The company will showcase the Midi 40 CO2 incubator at Thermo Scientific booth 101 in Hall B1 during Analytica 2010, being held March 23 - 26, in Munich, Germany.
The incubation parameters of the Midi 40 instrument are easily managed using the incubator’s IntrLogic™ II user interface, which features a bright, highly visible vacuum fluorescent display and an easy-to-navigate membrane touchpad.
The unit also incorporates a non-corrosive stainless steel chamber and a heated humidity pan to generate relative humidity values of up to 95 percent. Rapid recovery rates promote optimal cell growth and efficient direct heating design can provide accurate temperature control with a uniformity of 0.1 °C.
The Midi 40 CO2 incubator is supplied with RS485 signal output for data capture, and it includes an adjustable audible and visual alarm to alert the user to any significant changes to the incubation conditions.
The easily stackable Thermo Scientific Midi 40 CO2 incubator is ideal for cell culturing scientists who need smaller, discrete workspaces or who require smaller sample throughput.
