Considerations for Efficient Scale-Up of PSCs in Suspension Culture
Over the years, the use of pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) in therapeutic and screening applications has become an important consideration within the stem cell field. Many researchers attempt to achieve large numbers of high-quality PSCs by leveraging traditional two-dimensional (2D) adherent cultures, although scaling up using adherent PSC cultures can be accomplished, there are several drawbacks to this approach. In order to avoid the restrictions faced in adherent workflows, culturing PSCs in suspension becomes a preferable method for cell number expansion and scale-up.
