LAMP Assay for Detecting SARS-CoV-2 RNA Using an Absorbance-Based Colorimetric Readout

Rapid molecular diagnostic tests are a central tool to detect and thereby slow down the spread of infectious diseases such as SARS-CoV-2. Although PCR based methods have proven effective, reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) show comparable sensitivity and specificity. LAMP assay recognizes the target RNA by several distinct sequences and works to amplify it with high selectivity.

  • Increase diagnostic capacity
  • Detect RNA amplification in real-time
  • Be performed under isothermal conditions at 65°C
  • Be used to test samples in under 40 minutes
