Sensors in Medicine 2017
Event Oct 03 - Oct 05, 2017
Venue: Holiday Inn London – Kensington Forum
Location: London, UK
The 5th Annual Sensors in Medicine Conference will incorporate sessions on: i. Glucose sensing for diabetic care; ii. Sensors for infectious diseases and Point-of-Care; iii. Sensor technology for cancer diagnosis.
Diabetic monitoring is the most important commercial healthcare application of biosensors, with developments aimed to sense glucose in saliva, sweat and tears, as well as transdermally and by implanted sensors, eliminating the need for painful finger sticks.
Sensors for infectious disease diagnosis are an emerging focus for biosensor technology, driven by antimicrobial resistance, and the need for rapid point-of-care technology.
The early stage diagnosis of cancer, which significantly increases the probability of a successful therapeutic outcome, is among the world’s great humanitarian challenges; one in two of us will be diagnosed with cancer. Biosensor technology is now being applied to biomarkers in body fluids and breath.
The conference is open to abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations.
