CESCO Bioengineering has announced the GlucCell® Glucose Monitoring System, a palm size glucose meter specially designed for measuring the glucose concentration during mammalian cell and insect cell culture.
The device is calibration free and a merging of glucose biosensor technology with microprocessor-based instrumentation. The glucose test strip requires a sample volume of less than 3ul and instant result in 15 seconds.
The accuracy is 99.5% correlated with YSI or NOVA Bioprofile biochemical analyzer, and the accuracy does not affect by the type of culture medium including serum-containing or serum-free culture medium.
The disposable test strips eliminate the risk of contamination on the device and to the environment that is suitable for operating in biohazardous environment such as virus production.
