Antigens for Influenza Vaccine Strains Available
Seasonal flu (influenza) is a common infectious disease of the respiratory tract causing mild to severe illness. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent seasonal flu. Each year, 3-4 different flu strains will be selected as vaccine strains based on surveillance data of the recent isolates, and the performance of the vaccines from the previous season.
The annual vaccine strains normally include both influenza A and influenza B. There are many subtypes of influenza A based on the subtype of two surface antigens, hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA), while influenza B is divided into two lineages, the Yamagata lineage and the Victoria lineage.
To support influenza research, Sino Biological has developed a panel of recombinant antigen products covering most of the vaccine strains from 2015-2022. The products include both HA and NA proteins, and some nucleoprotein (NP) proteins. Customized production is available if your antigen (or strain) of interest is not on the current list.
