How an MRI-algorithm Identifies Individuals with Suicidal Thoughts

Machine-learning techniques can tell how a thought is represented in the human brain, and identify those who think about suicide.

Marcel Just, D. O. Hebb University Professor of Psychology, believes that this revolutionary way of assessing thought may be used to complement psychiatric interpretations and therapy approaches in the future.

The research team at Carnegie Mellon University have been given a $3.8M grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to further their research.
