Dr. Kaveh Kahen is a global leader in life sciences instrumentation and analytical chemistry, recognized for his expertise in life sciences and business transformation. He has played a pivotal role in advancing technologies and product commercialization that drive progress in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and applied markets. Kahen earned his PhD in analytical chemistry from George Washington University, where he specialized in the design and development of inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). He has since contributed significantly to the advancement of analytical instrumentation, holding 10 U.S. patents and publishing extensively on topics central to modern laboratory science.

Kahen initially joined SCIEX, where he led R&D for elemental MS, spearheading the development of breakthrough platforms, later moving to PerkinElmer as senior director of global R&D, and advancing to vice president and general manager of its MS business. Kahen later founded Sigma Analytical Services before becoming CEO of Advion Interchim Scientific.

In 2024, Kahen was appointed president of Phenomenex, a Danaher company specializing in chromatography consumables and solutions.
