This short course will describe both on- and off-target safety risks and highlight the most common methods used to inform, assess and mitigate risks. Several case studies will be used to bring these issues to life for chemists. Due to the high frequency of drug-induced liver injury (DILI) in clinical development, additional focus on mechanisms and mitigation approaches for this liability will be presented.
