Challenges and Opportunities of Sample Preparation for Complex Matrices in Liquid Chromatography Coupled With Mass Spectrometry

Now Available On Demand!

Direct analysis of biological fluids such as plasma and urine with liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry are challenging when low limit of quantification needs to be reached.

Sample preparation can help to stabilize and preconcentrate the analytes, as well as increase the robustness and selectivity of the assays. Chemical derivatization is an interesting approach and benefits from automation for good reproducibility and sensitivity.

During this talk we discuss:

  • Various approaches with and without chromatography separation coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry
  • Multi-analyte qualitative and quantitative analysis in complex samples
  • Column-switching as an alternative way to handle complex samples
