Avantium Technologies BV has announced that it has opened a local branch office in the United States.
At the same time Avantium is expanding its commercial team with 2 US-based employees:
Andrei Winkler, Vice President Business Development, will be responsible for Avantium’s service business in North America.
Andrei comes to Avantium Technologies with 20 years of business development experience acquired in global sales and strategic marketing positions – primarily in specialty chemicals.
He previously worked at Cytec Industries Inc. in Europe, Asia and most recently in the USA (NJ).
Andrei’s ability to manage interactions at both commercial and technical levels will be an important asset to Avantium to advance its high-throughput screening services to both the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Amy Wagner, Sales Director Tools, will have responsibility for Avantium’s expansion into the equipment market within the US.
She will be responsible for tools including the Crystal16™, a device for performing parallel crystallization experiments and the recently launched Block96™ for parallel high-pressure batch reactions.
Amy joins Avantium from Barnstead International with 10 years of experience servicing and selling to the pharmaceutical equipment market.
"Avantium Technologies is experiencing significant growth of both its chemicals and life sciences businesses. Having a local presence will enable us to better service our fast expanding customer base in the United States," says Guus Scheefhals, Chief Business Officer of Avantium Technologies.
"I am therefore very pleased that we have established Avantium Technologies Inc. and to have been able to recruit such excellent people to strengthen our business team."
