ClinTec International Receives Business Innovation Award

ClinTec International has announced as winners of the prestigious ‘Business Innovation of the Year’ award sponsored by Microsoft presented during the Scottish Business Awards, held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on the 12th May 2014.
Dr Rabinder Buttar, CEO and Chairman of ClinTec International, was presented the award in a ceremony with over 1,900 business people present. Attending the event was Global Entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson - who earlier met Dr Buttar and said “Well done to the ClinTec team for building an entrepreneurial, innovative global business”.
Sir Richard Branson took part in a live Q&A session hosted by the broadcaster Alastair Stewart. Amongst the many key figures present at the Awards dinner and ceremony were First Minister of Scotland Rt. Honourable Alex Salmond MSP, Secretary of State for Scotland, the Rt. Honourable Alistair Carmichael MP and Chairman of the Awards, Sir Tom Hunter.
Dr Buttar said “ClinTec International is delighted to receive this prestigious award in recognition of all its hard work and dedication. As a global entrepreneurial company, with a presence in over fifty countries, innovation is at the heart of everything that we do”.
First Minister said ClinTec is well recognized as a successful global business operating from Scotland and Dr Buttar as one of our outstanding women in science. Dr Buttar and her International team attended the First Minister’s event at his official residence in Edinburgh, where Professor Andrea Nolan, Principal of Edinburgh Napier, received an honorary OBE by the First Minister on behalf of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The innovative business idea developed by ClinTec International was the growth of its Academy of Clinical Research Excellence (ACRE). In collaboration with the renowned Edinburgh Napier University, the ClinTec Academy, ACRE has delivered an innovative online Masters Degree programme in International Clinical Research and Technology and so far enrolled students from 15 different countries.
In addition, ACRE now also offers a wide range of other University Certified training courses to address the learning needs globally of all clinical research professionals and through this it is shaping the future of training for clinical researchers on a global scale and driving standards even higher.
