Labcyte has announced that it’s Labcyte® Echo™ 550 liquid handler is a finalist for the 2005 “Best of Small Tech” awards.

The Echo 550 uses sound to transfer nanoliter droplets of solutions in high-throughput screening in the pharmaceutical industry.

By eliminating pipette tips, pin tools and nozzles, the Echo 550 reduces running costs of HTS by as much as $300,000 per instrument per year while providing results of higher accuracy and better precision than can be obtained with other techniques.

The winner of the “Best of Small Tech” awards will be announced in Chicago at the NanoCommerce/SEMI Nano Forum 2005 meeting on November 2, 2005.
