Temis Luxid® standardizes on UIMA
Temis has announced that Luxid®, its recently unveiled next generation Information Intelligence solution, is designed from the ground up on UIMA.
The UIMA standard provides a standard framework, with interoperability to allow for the combination of multiple technologies.
Temis’ UIMA support enables Organizations to integrate Luxid® into their Enterprise Content Management and Information Retrieval applications.
Luxid® now becomes fully compliant with the IBM OmniFind enterprise search and discovery platform, enabling the search experience to be enhanced with semantics.
It also enables Luxid® to take advantage of any third-party UIMA-compliant annotators.
"The growing community of support around UIMA is driving new innovation in information intelligence and analytics," said Marc Andrews, Program Director, Strategy and Evangelism, IBM Information Management.
"The combination of IBM and Temis technologies will help organizations more easily realize the full value of their unstructured information assets."
In addition to the immediate interoperability benefits, UIMA provided Temis Product Development Team with an adapted development environment for building Luxid®, a massively scalable Information Intelligence solution.
Luxid® gives immediate access to non obvious information and delivers industry-specific knowledge from vast and unstructured data.
To ease customer deployment, Luxid® has been structured into three stackable software applications:
1. Luxid® Annotation Factory performs the extraction of high value information from text. Its understanding of all major languages powers the ability to identify entities and relationships. It offers an intuitive interface to manage the full document annotation pipeline.
2. Luxid® Information Mart is a platform that federates heterogeneous sources, and enriches the harvested document leveraging Luxid® Annotation Factory in order to build a knowledge base.
3. Luxid® Information Analytics is a web-based and feature-rich portal enabling information discovery on top of Luxid® Information Mart.
Its User Interface provides access to advanced search and filtering, document navigation, time analysis, cross-tab views, information mapping and clustering.
The exclusive Knowledge Browser turns any document set into a navigable knowledge graph, displaying extracted entities semantic relationships.
To enable collaborative discoveries, Luxid® Information Analytics also offers multiple-view dashboards through user-defined and shared Centers of Interest.
"With the UIMA Framework, Luxid® exceeds the requirements of the most demanding Enterprise applications," said Eric Brégand, CEO of TEMIS.
"Luxid® brings efficiency, through open and easy-to-deploy annotation workflows, scalability, through built-in load-balancing capabilities with unlimited service nodes dispatch, and interoperability, through native connection to UIMA-compliant third-party information retrieval applications," added Pascal Coupet, CTO of Temis, based in Philadelphia.
