Apticraft Systems has announced the successful completion and handover of the PrimerPlex project to PREMIER Biosoft International, USA.
PrimerPlex is a software for designing oligos for Luminex's xMAP® technology based nucleic acid identification. The software automates the custom oligo design work for high throughput studies.
Apticraft Systems has announced the successful completion of the PrimerPlex project awarded to it by PREMIER Biosoft International, USA.
Apticraft told the press that the project has been completed in a record one year time.
"This was the first of its kind project that we handled. The xMAP® technology is certainly changing the way flow cytometry research is done. The xMAP® technology combines the prowess of flow cytometry with the accuracy of microsphere based detection," said Shonali Paul, Director, Apticraft Systems.
Research labs studying single nucleotide polymorphisms, can now accomplish complex assay design in minutes.
The software interface design presented a particular challenge for simultaneously addressing two different assays. It also involved advanced computations to screen the results for cross reactivity.
Apticraft was able to solve this through extensive research including the study of technology articles, communication with topical experts and rigorous testing. "We knew it would be tough, 100 assays simultaneously usually are. Our scientists were in touch with technology experts. The program went through several rounds of optimization to output the best oligos," commented Shonali Paul.
"PrimerPlex was designed targeting the SNP genotyping market. Apticraft Systems did an admirable job in creating user-friendly interface capable of handling two assays simultaneously and designing a complex algorithm.
