At MEDICA 2011, Artel will present technologies for laboratories to improve data integrity, productivity, compliance and quality through liquid handling quality assurance.

Artel systems for automated liquid handlers and handheld pipettes include advanced technology to verify volume accuracy and precision, as well as knowledge of best practices to optimize liquid handling processes.

Visit Artel at MEDICA 2011, Booth D15-1 in Hall 3, November 16-19, 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany to learn more about the company’s liquid handling quality assurance solutions.

At MEDICA, the company will highlight its Multichannel Verification System (MVS) for automated liquid handlers and Pipette Calibration System (PCS) for handheld pipettes, used in laboratories worldwide.

Based on ratiometric photometry, which measures light absorption by two specially formulated dyes to verify delivered volumes, Artel calibration and verification systems provide immediate, traceable measurements of dispensed volume accuracy and precision.

“Whether you are working in drug discovery, clinical research, forensic testing or other laboratories, regular verification checks of your liquid handling instrumentation are essential to ensure the integrity of assay results,” said Dr. Stefan Schork, Business Development Europe, Artel.

Dr. Schork continued, “Artel provides the knowledge and technology to help labs develop quick, easy and reliable methods to optimize liquid handling processes in an effort to drive false results, subsequent losses and inefficiency out of the process.”

The MVS has a reputation as the industry standard for automated liquid handling quality assurance. The system is suitable for all volume measurements in the range of 0.01 μL to 350 µL.

It provides automatic reporting of volume statistics on tip-by-tip and well-by-well bases within minutes of dispensing.

In addition, measurement results from the MVS are traceable to the International System of Units (SI) through reference standards maintained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). It is easy to use and can be implemented by a technician of any skill level.

Additionally, the PCS allows rapid and user-friendly calibration of single-channel pipettes, automatically measuring and documenting the accuracy and precision of dispensed volumes.

Portable and robust, the PCS can be used on the bench and delivers results in seconds, providing laboratories the flexibility and convenience of an internal calibration method.

The corresponding software package, ARTEL Pipette Tracker, offers a complete pipette inventory management solution to the user, providing a number of data analyses and reporting tools, and is compliant with all applicable regulatory guidelines.
