BioGenex Laboratories, Inc. has announced that the Xmatrx™, its automated staining system, delivers “Microtome to Microscope” automation.

The Xmatrx™ System is designed to automate fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), in situ hybridization (ISH) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), among other applications.

From the initial baking of the tissue on the slide, the system automates all subsequent steps through the application of the coverslip at the end of a slide-based assay, resulting in a completely finished slide ready to go directly to the microscope or imaging system for review.

“We believe the Xmatrx™ System will cause a major shift in the field,” stated Krishan L. Kalra, Ph.D, Chairman and CEO of BioGenex.

“It takes slides from the Microtome to Microscope - it does not get more walkaway than this.”

Currently in limited release, the Xmatrx™ System will be available early in 2006.
