Bioo Scientific Launches ELISAs for High-Throughput ApoB Quantitation

Read time: Less than a minute
Bioo Scientific introduced a new MaxDiscovery™ Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) ELISA Kit, a complete, two-step ELISA that analyzes the quantity of ApoB in tissues, serum, plasma or cultured cells for research purposes.

ApoB is the primary apolipoprotein of LDL, low-density lipoproteins or bad cholesterol, which is responsible for carrying cholesterol to tissues. This kit offers protein measurement along with the ability to analyze multiple samples in low-volume, high-throughput experiments.

According to Dr. Masoud Toloue, Senior Scientist at Bioo Scientific, “Elevated plasma concentration of Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) is an established risk factor for atherosclerosis and a better indicator of heart disease than total cholesterol or LDL alone making it a highly sought after pharmaceutical lipid target. Considerable evidence also suggests that ApoB should be measured after statin therapy, as low HDL cholesterol and otherwise normal plasma lipids can coexist with an elevated level of ApoB.”

The MaxDiscovery ApoB ELISA Kit It uses a two-step sandwich ELISA format which increases reproducibility and reduces errors. It is available in 96-well and 384-well formats; both of which have plates that are pre-coated with capture monoclonal antibodies and contain all of the reagents needed to perform the assays. For increased flexibility, the 96-well plate is composed of 8-well breakaway strips.
