CEM Introduces Next Generation Discover System for Microwave-Enhanced Synthesis

Read time: Less than a minute

CEM Corporation has announced the release of the next generation Discover® S-Class System for microwave-enhanced synthesis.

As the culmination of over four years of continued market definition and engineering refinement, the latest addition to the Discover family according to CEM is poised to become the new standard in performance, ease-of-use, and cost-efficiency.

Discover has been restyled and re-engineered to offer singular features such as an integrated camera option that allows chemists to observe their reactions in situ and intelligent, fully automated pressure management, which recognizes different vial sizes without the need for adapters.

"The new Discover S-Class System is an exciting addition to CEM's portfolio of award-winning microwave laboratory instrumentation," said Michael J. Collins, President and CEO of CEM Corporation.

"This was a natural progression of the product as various component technologies continue to improve, so we have re-engineered it with additional innovative features to give chemists even more versatility and ease of use."

Of course, the platform continues to support the complete line of accessories including options for analytics, optics and scale up as well as automation modules with 48-, 72- or 96-position capacity, known as the ExplorerPLS® System. Explorer is the only microwave synthesis system to feature intelligent vial racks, which recognize vial size and location.

It can switch seamlessly between 10- and 35-mL vials without the need for adapters or system changes, yet still fits in a fume hood. Explorer’s 96-position system footprint is similar to common systems with only a 60-position capacity.
