CyBio Introduces Capillary Head for Working within the Nanoliter Range

With the integration of a capillary-based pipetting system into the CyBi®-Well vario platform, CyBio AG has enlarged its competence in liquid handling.

The Capillary Head is an exchangeable pipetting head for working within the nanoliter range. It is fully compatible with the existing platform and can be refitted. The pipetting platform CyBi®-Well vario thus offers nine pipetting heads for a wide volume range and different pipetting methods.

The Capillary Head allows the simultaneous and contact-free transfer of 96 or 384 components with volume ranges between 25 and 1000 nl into dry assay microplates. The direct usage of substances from the compound library is now possible without additional time-consuming dilution and without the danger of precipitation of samples.

Even DMSO-sensitive cell-based assays can be performed. The Capillary Head handles microplates with 96, 384 and 1536 formats with high throughput.

The CyBi®-Well vario with Capillary Head can be used as stand-alone unit and can be integrated into a complex automation solution. The software platform CyBio Composer enables the user to draw up his individual protocols for any application.
