Randox have launched Drugs of Abuse (DoA) reagents for use on the RX Series of Clinical Chemistry Analyzers. Users can now detect 10 drugs of abuse in human urine on quality systems offering time and labor savings.

Drug abuse is a serious problem worldwide and its prevalence is increasing year after year. The abuse of drugs not only has the obvious impacts on the individual’s health, which can be fatal, it is also the cause of countless traffic accidents and violence. It can affect the workplace with high levels of absenteeism, accidents and poor productivity. An effective method of detecting Drugs of Abuse is therefore crucial.

Randox are revolutionizing DoA testing. DoA tests available include; Cannabinoids (THC), Cocaine Metabolite, EDDP, Ecstasy (MDMA), Methadone, Opiates, Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines and Ethanol. These new assays are suited for use in Police/crime laboratories, hospital laboratories, prison laboratories as well as private screening laboratories.

DoA assays from Randox can be run on the RX Series of clinical chemistry analyzers – the RX Daytona and RX Imola. The RX Daytona is fully automated random access analyzer with a throughput of 180 photometric tests and 270 ISE tests per hour. Whilst the RX Imola is a fully automated random access benchtop analyzer capable of performing 400 photometric tests per hour and 240 ISE tests per hour. Whatever laboratory size or type, Randox has the solution for DoA testing.
