Elsevier has announced the launch of the new release of Reaxys, a chemistry research experience that delivers relevant literature and data more than twice as fast as any other solution. The new Reaxys combines a highly streamlined user interface with search and indexing enhancements powered by machine learning algorithms to ensure maximum discoverability.

In addition, the release includes more compounds and patent content from Asia and easier integration with existing informatics environments. "Whether in pharmaceutical drug discovery, chemical product development or education, chemists rely on technology solutions more and more to deliver answers on-demand as the volume of published research grows daily," said Thibault Geoui, Senior Director of Solution Marketing, Elsevier R&D Solutions.

"And yet, most chemistry tools are sub-optimal because you have to be an expert user to get what you need. The average chemist spends 5-10 hours a week hunting for relevant data. It's inefficient. Reaxys addresses this challenge head-on by delivering answers to every user faster than any other solution, and faster with every iteration."
 
Built by chemistry, content and technology experts, the new Reaxys raises the standard in speed and simplicity for all chemistry tools in the market. It introduces improvements that are particularly useful for novice users while also enhancing the capabilities that experienced users rely on:
 
•A streamlined and intuitive user interface with Quick Search options and a drag-and-drop Query Builder interface to help all users quickly search for literature or compound properties using keywords, structure or reaction drawings, molecular formula building, and more
•Enhanced literature search that streamlines inputs into one search field and includes NLP author name recognition
•Inclusion of Asian-language patents data from China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, which are key sources of unique compounds in high demand with chemists
•Extending the range of searchable content to include Reaxys index terms and compounds from more than 15,000 chemistry-related periodicals-the familiar deep manual indexing and excerption of compound properties, reactions and synthesis procedures from the core 450 chemistry journals has now been supplemented with a novel, rules-based automated content enrichment to broaden coverage
•New API and data integration capabilities that make it easier for chemoinformaticians, medicinal chemists and computational chemists to query the Reaxys database through their chosen system and export data to modeling tools.
 
Beta testers have confirmed that the new Reaxys is the next generation for chemistry search.

With this latest release, Reaxys now contains over 240 years of unparalleled chemistry content, including: 105 million organic, inorganic and organometallic compounds, 41 million chemical reactions, 500 million published experimental facts, 16,000 chemistry related periodicals, and six indexing sources for a cross-disciplinary view of chemistry.
