Greiner Bio-One has announced the launch of CrystalQuick™Plus, combines the optical properties of a flat crystallization well bottom with superior surface features, rendering a format conducive to crystallography of cell membrane proteins.

According to the Company, the hydrophobic plate surface prevents drop deformation, even when surface tension-reducing substances such as detergents or ethanol are contained within and the hydrophobic surface reduces meniscus formation of reservoir screening solutions, thereby minimizing the risk for screening solution to spread from the reservoir into the crystallization well.

CrystalQuick™Plus is designed to permit screening of up to 288 crystallization set-ups per plate. Each screening reservoir contains an elevated platform with three square, flat bottom crystallization wells to perform multiple sitting drop vapor diffusions within a 96-well framework.

Designed to facilitate high throughput protein crystallography in automated systems, CrystalQuick™ Plates enable the investigation of optimal crystal growth conditions and subsequent X-ray diffraction at reduced cost.
