INC Research Grows Clinical Trials Services Team in India to Manage Growing Demands in Emerging Region

INC Research, LLC, has recently appointed Shabbir Rangwala, M. as executive director, Global Services and Site Head and Sunil Garg M. senior manager, Clinical Operations to help manage India-based clinical trials, which has been a key region for global drug development efforts. They join Bhawana Awasthy, MD, senior medical director, Medical Affairs who was recently named to this position as part of the Medical Management team.

"Shabbir and Sunil have proven expertise in CRO and other key clinical research settings to enable them to help guide the clinical trials outsourcing process. Rangwala has 13 years of drug development experience in both CROs and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to joining INC Research, he held positions at Eli Lilly & Company, GVK Bio and iGATE Clinical Research. Prior to joining INC GVK Bio, he was associated with a global CRO in Hyderabad as country manager and director data management CDA. His responsibilities have included roles in training, quality, business operations, business development, line management and project management across India, Australia and Hong Kong.

Garg has extensive experience in establishing and managing the operations of leading CROs in India. During his career, he has worked as a part of global cross-functional teams assuming responsibility for key functions including clinical operations, business planning and execution, project management and customer relationship management.

Prior to joining INC Research, he led the clinical monitoring group for a large CRO, one of the largest operational groups that contributed more than 60 percent of the annual revenue for the company. He successfully managed all aspects of clinical research operations for Phase I through IV clinical studies across multiple therapeutic areas.

INC Research provides a full spectrum Phase I through IV global clinical trial services for India based out of its Gurgaon office in a fast-growing business district on the outskirts of Delhi. The India operations also serve as a hub for the company's Contracts and Functional Services group and Data Management, Data Entry and Clinical Programming groups. Through its joint venture with GVK Biosciences, the INC Research team ensures that FDA, EMEA and local regulations are strictly followed, along with high standards of conduct based on ICH GCP guidelines.
