Invitrogen Launches Thioltracker™ Violet Glutathione Detection Reagent

Read time: Less than a minute

Invitrogen Corporation announced the launch of ThiolTracker™ Violet, a thiol-reactive fluorescent probe that is useful for detecting intracellular reduced glutathione, which plays a central role in protecting mammalian cells against free radical and oxidant damage.

ThiolTracker Violet is applicable to a wide range of techniques including HCS imaging, flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy. The stain is permeable to live cells, yet survives formaldehyde fixation and detergent extraction.

Ten-times brighter than conventional glutathione detection products, ThiolTracker Violet is particularly useful for microscopy and high content analysis, and it is easy to use, amenable to multiplex assays and delivers reproducible results, the company claims.
