METTLER TOLEDO Automates its Microbalances

Read time: Less than a minute

METTLER TOLEDO has launched automated versions of its MX5 microbalance and UMX2 ultra microbalance weighing of small tubular samples.

The MX5 Automated-S and the UMX2 Automated-S are claimed to be ideal for research, development and manufacturing processes in various industries and especially for medical devices, for which applications include the weighing of coatings and checking the thickness of tubular material, such as catheters, stents, tubes and springs.

These microbalances automate the whole weighing procedure once the sample is placed on the sample lift, requiring no further input from the user.

A smaller weighing chamber with automated lid improves precision and eliminates draught, while the specially developed sample lift keeps the tubular sample in the correct position. This automated approach of weighing means that these new microbalances can be integrated into automated manufacturing processes to achieve higher productivity.
