Velocity11, an Agilent Technologies company, has released a new version of its VWorks Automation Control Software. The new version of VWorks is a complete scalable software solution that integrates and controls scheduling for disparate devices from a variety of vendors in robotics, liquid handling, microplate reading, microplate washing and others. Through driving laboratory automation integration through the discovery process - VWorks enables life science enterprises to maximize throughput, create quality leads sooner and lower support burden with a single automation platform, according to the company. A protocol editor combined with device interfaces allows users to design protocols; while a background JavaScript engine and the IWorks development interface provide the total flexibility needed by expert users and system developers. At its core, VWorks is built upon an event-driven scheduler and error handler, allowing scientists to focus on the needs of their assay rather than the automation. The new version of VWorks offers full 21CFR Part11 compliance support, making it the optimal solution for applications covered in FDA guidelines.
